Conflict-sensitive approaches to development

This two-year programme was designed by FEWER, International Alert and Saferworld to help integrate conflict-sensitive practice into development, humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding, and empower people working in these fields to contribute more effectively to conflict prevention. Through the development of a resource pack, the programme has provided a platform for documenting practice in relation to conflict sensitive approaches. In this sense, this programme, which was undertaken in close collaboration with the Africa Peace Forum (APFO) in Kenya, the Center for Conflict Resolution (CECORE) in Uganda, and the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies (CHA) in Sri Lanka, represents the first major north-south partnership in promoting and documenting conflict-sensitive approaches.
